‘Watched’- June-July

So every couple of months I like to come here and talk about some of the movies and television shows I’ve watched over the past few months. Unlike my music favourites series, in which I’m pretty positive about the items on the list, I’m usually pretty critical during the instalments of this series. Solely because of the fact that for every good movie I watch, there are around 5 bad ones that take its place. Maybe I’m just really bad at picking out movies? Maybe Netflix is just absolutely terrible at recommending things that I’ll actually like?

The Rise of The Anti-Role Model

I think it’s time we stop encouraging this strange narrative that celebrities singing and dancing on stage for a pay-check are somehow responsible for your child’s mental and psychological development. Sorry parents! You might have to actually start raising your own children instead of turning on the television and deciding that the first person that pops up on screen is your kid’s brand new parent.

‘Watched’- April-May

I think what I miss most about pre-pandemic life is being able to sit in a dark cinema hall for a couple of hours with a huge bag of popcorn, and sort of just disappear. A place where it is not just encouraged but expected for people to shut up.
