Hey there! Welcome back to ‘The Confessions of a Random Blogger!’

Someone that I’m very close to loves to write poetry. However, they simply don’t like having to deal with the pressure of having their name attached to their work. So every month or so, I publish a couple of their poems here.

‘Sacrifice’

Life is a sacrifice?
Give up that last bowl of rice?
Drop out of the rat race,
Head held high & with grace.
Give to the needy; to share,
If there’s anything left to spare…
But alas! Make no mistake,
It’s not yours to give or mine to take.
That distance between a point & a line,
For the greatest gift is that of time…

We often live for the others,
We strive only for ourselves…
We do not offer; we seek to get,
For one does tend to forget…
Selfless crossing of that thin line,
In prayer to our divine…
Life is a sacrifice?
We have to be quick to realise,
Is it really about that bowl of rice?
And the cycle starts again…

Is This The End?

Something has come to an end today,
Someone has been sent away.
Oh, I can still feel your pain,
Running like fire through every vein.
But now I know I have to let you go,
To follow your destiny, your course, your flow.
An may the lord keep you at ease,
May he shower his blessings so rest in peace.
Nothing has come to an end today,
Cherished memories will never be swept away.
