One Year Blogiversary!

One year ago, on May 27th 2020, I posted my first blog post. 60 posts, 169 followers and 47,152 words later, I can’t believe it’s been this long.

At the risk of sounding like some sort of brain dead iNfLueNcEr who wants to ‘sincerely thank their fans for throwing their money at them;’ I would genuinely like to sincerely thank anyone that has supported me along the way. Whether it’s following and reading my posts on a regular basis, or if this is your first time ever even coming across my blog- thank you.

I started this blog at an extremely mentally trying time of my life. We were all knee deep in the scariest time of the pandemic, and I truly had nothing better to do with my days but wonder when regular life would resume.

I’ve always considered myself somewhat of a ‘writer’- whether it be doodling short stories during problematically monotonous math classes to writing entire articles in the notes app of my phone. However, I never actually ever did anything with my work- you know all the generic reasons that writers use not to put their stuff out there?

“Where do I even start? What if nobody cares what I have to say? What if no one reads it?”

While I still don’t know the answers to those heavily weighted questions, I now realise that it simply doesn’t not even matter. The answer will never be as gratifying as the question.

The unknown, unpromised answer is always the best excuse to not move forward.

Dave Chapelle once said “You can’t change the world, but you can make a corner of it pretty nice.”
