Hey there! Welcome back to ‘The Confessions of a Random Blogger!’
Happy Poetry Month!
Someone that I’m very close to loves to write poetry. However, they simply don’t like having to deal with the pressure of having their name attached to their work. So every month or so, I publish a few of their poems here.
Now, while I’m still going to share some of their poetry today, I also wanted to do something special for World Poetry Month…
Throughout the month of April, I’m going to be featuring poets looking for a platform to share their art! So depending on how many submissions I receive, the poems will be posted in multiple different batches over the course of this month!
If you would like to have one of your poems featured here for World Poetry Month, connect with me on Instagram.
Now let’s let our anonymous poet do the talking!
‘Destiny’
How can anybody change their destiny?
How can you escape what has to be?
Have we only been born to suffer?
Has this life anything else to offer?
Have we always have to be alone?
Fighting all obstacles on our own?
Well we do form part of our own fate,
And it is never truly too late.
For we get our way if we set our own pace,
By confronting life face to face!
Perhaps this is our means to be free.
And though I might not escape what has to be,
For it’s the future no one else can see.
It’s in our hands to make our own destiny.
‘Today?’
I live for today,
Why worry for tommorow?
Wish those worries away,
A splash of joy, I need to borrow.
Enjoying each moment to the dare,
This time in my life is the best.
I’ll leave those worries for the wear,
Gathering strength, to give my doubts a rest.
Channeling my energy on a fruitful path,
Worth and sincerity will leave their mark.
Begging for blessings, down on my knees as I plead,
Perhaps someday, I too will be part of the lead.
Thank you for reading!
Once again, if you would like to have one of your poems featured during the month of April, message me on Instagram!

Well written poems!! Are all the poems in the series from the same individual?

Yes! All the instalments in the series have been written by the same person. Maybe one day they’ll feel confident enough to publish them with their name attached, but until then we get to read them anonymously!
